I was delighted this morning to see a photo of my young teacher friend’s new 6th grade classroom and her class library, which was my old class library from when I was teaching 6th grade. It’s been in storage for these last few years, and I was absolutely thrilled to be able to pass it along to her, and especially happy that there are 6th graders enjoying it again. Isn’t it interesting about book people? We become so attached to our books and libraries that when we do finally part with them, we always try to find the best possible person or place for them. I found both!
This makes me SO happy! And ready to begin my own classroom library!

Thanks Reagan and Kailana! This friend was hired on at the very last minute before school started, with only a weekend to get ready for her first year of teaching. Look how far she’s come! She’s already a wonderful teacher, and her 6th graders love her.

It looks like a cheerful room with that huge bookcase full of books. I like the colorful banners above it, too.

Les, I agree. It does look like a cheerful, happy place to spend the day. This young teacher is full of passion for her work. It’s wonderful to welcome someone like that to the profession.
Thanks Stacybuckeye. It’s a very welcoming classroom. Her 6th graders are so lucky to have her.
