It’s Always Something

Some of you may remember the brilliant Gilda Radner as Rosanna Rosannadanna, saying, “It just goes to show you, it’s always something…”  That phrase came to mind this morning as I sat down to write this post about why I have not been reading or blogging very much in the last few weeks…  Here are a few of the somethings that have been keeping me busy and away from my reading:

Thanks, Kristen! I am enjoying my summer break now that I’ve decompressed. It’s so nice to have some time to do all these things.

Debbie, I know … it seems a little weird to not be reading as much right now, but summer calls and I’m just enjoying having some time to do a little bit of this and a little bit of that.

Thanks, Tabor. That’s a nice way to say it. It does feel a lot more balanced right now. The school year is so intense and time-and-energy consuming, that it’s harder to maintain a balance. This feels good.

I think so many of us are busy this summer, enjoying family and traveling and puttering in our gardens and spending time with friends. It’s hard to squeeze it all in, isn’t it? I try to make time for my blogging (I’ve even started reading my favorite blogs on a laptop while walking on my treadmill!), but know that life must be enjoyed and lived to its fullest. Even if that means fewer blog entries or books read. Winter will be here before you know it, and we’ll all be hunkered down with our stacks of books.

BTW, darling blond curls on that little grandson of yours! We’re off to visit our 7-year-old granddaughter in less than a month. Can. Not. Wait!
