The Compliment of a Lifetime

A drawing with a note from one of my second grade boys this week ended with this compliment: “You’re cute.” This child has no idea what a lovely compliment that was for his 60-year old teacher! And he has no idea that, as a result, he’ll be in my heart forever and ever. It’s been a long time since I considered myself “cute.” … This note, and smiles like this one, are two of the daily joys of teaching.

Thanks, friends. He’s a sweety-pie and he certainly made the ending of the week a fun one for this teacher. I’m still chuckling.
