Knitting and Narnia

It’s a lovely, summer kind of thing to be able to knit and read at the same time! This week, I’m listening to the audiobook version of The Chronicles of Narnia, (with fabulous narrators!) while working on a new sweater for the fall (Debbie Bliss pattern and yarn).
… And so Mom can see what I’m working on:

Funny — I’ve been needlepointing and listening to books lately. This weekend, I continued to work on the never-ending needlepoint belt I started 6 years ago and listened to The Cossacks by Leo Tolstoy.

    Enjoy Narnia!

Rose City Reader, how lovely! Needlepoint and Tolstoy sound like a wonderful combination! My husband and I listened to Anna Karenina on our road trip last summer, and loved listening to it.

That’s a really cute sweater! I wish I still did hand work, so I could have an excuse to finish an audio book I started in the car. Hopefully, some day! That’s a really cute sweater!

Thanks, Nymeth. I gave up knitting for a lot of years, thinking I was “too busy” to do it. Last year, I gave it back to myself realizing that if I’m too busy to knit (which is so relaxing and enjoyable except when sewing together the knitted pieces of a sweater–which can be a royal pain) then I’m working too hard! It’s been a delight, especially when I can listen to books while I do it.

Thanks, Bookfool. That’s exactly what I do — bring the audiobook in from the car and listen to it while knitting. I’m getting a lot of enjoyable listening done right now!
